Randy B. Darney

Randy Boyde Darney, 73 of Fredericktown, PA passed away Saturday, March 1, 2026.

Born June 19, 1952 to Earnest and Harriet Darney, he spent his life in the Fredericktown area.

Randy was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to labor. He worked in the coal mines, where he demonstrated strength and determination. Later, he continued his career with PennDOT, contributing to the upkeep and safety of Pennsylvania's roadways. He took pride in an honest day's work and in providing for his family.

Outside of work, Randy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved driving his Trans Am, listening to Oldies music, and watching The Three Stooges, which never failed to make him laugh. Those who knew him will remember his appreciation for the classics and the joy he found in the things he loved. Randy will be remembered for his kind heart and the quiet but steady way who showed up for the people that mattered most.

Though he was married and later divorced, that chapter of his life blessed him with two wonderful children. He is survived by his son, Randy Darney Jr. (Kelly) and daughter Amber Rankin (John); He was a proud and loving "Pappy" to three grandchildren, Kalista and Linsey Darney and Jaidyn Rankin. He is also survived by a sister Sherry Darney and friends who will miss him deeply.

Friends will be received Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 3 to 6 PM in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank St. at Crawford Rd. Fredericktown, PA. A private burial will be held in the Fredericktown Cemetery.
