Randy Paul Hobbs, age 50, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on January 23, 2026. He was born on August 12, 1975, in Madison, Florida, and lived a life defined by authenticity, generosity, and a deep love for both people and adventure.

Randy worked as a professional truck driver from 1996 until 2024, a career he took great pride in. He was especially passionate about mentoring others and served as a driver trainer with Millis Transfer, where he trained more than 50 new drivers—many of whom are still on the road today. His students remembered him for his patient, straightforward teaching style and the genuine care he showed for their success.

Outside of work, Randy embraced life fully. He was an avid motorcyclist who loved to ride on his days off, and he also enjoyed flying kites, shooting firearms at practice ranges, and exploring the world through food as an international foodie. He adored his “fur babies,” taking great joy in playing with and caring for them.

Randy was smart, happy, witty, genuine, honest, and refreshingly straightforward. He welcomed both his family and his chosen family with an open heart. He had a rare ability to make a lasting and memorable impression on everyone he met, forming deep friendships wherever he went.

He is survived by his loving husband, Brian Hughes of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his parents, Stanley and Nancy Marie (Willoughby) Hobbs of Dunlap, Tennessee; brothers David Hobbs of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Michael Hobbs of Garden City, Georgia; aunt June Justice of Waycross, Georgia; parents-in-law James and Wilma (Hughes) Huff of Logansport, Indiana; sister-in-law Lisa (Hughes) Larsen and husband Jerry Larsen; brother-in-law Curtis Hughes and wife Terry (Hayes) Hughes, all of Logansport, Indiana; brother-in-law Kevin Hughes and wife Vicki Hughes of Andover, Maine; sister-in-law Mary Hughes of Turner, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Randy’s memory to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute.

Randy Paul Hobbs will be remembered for his open heart, his fearless honesty, and the powerful way he showed up for the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, taught, and inspired.
