Randy Lee Moen, age 57, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 22, 2025, at the McVille Hospital.
Randy was born December 12, 1967, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, to Charlotte (Olson) and Noel Moen. He grew up on a farm near Whitman, ND, and graduated from Michigan High School. He earned a degree in Mass Communications from Moorhead State University, graduating in 1990. He worked for a time in sales for a glass company in the Minneapolis area. For the last several years, he has lived at the Moen farm and worked as an independent contractor for Forde-Ferrier LLC and area farmers, specifically Scott Moen and Jeff Moen.
Randy grew up in a busy household with 4 brothers and 1 sister. They could be found climbing trees, swimming in the slough, and interacting with the family pets and farm animals. Throughout high school, he excelled in football, basketball, track, music, and drama. He was a very social guy and had many friendships from many schools.
Randy is survived by his children Jacob (Samantha) Moen (grandson Carson), Sara (Noah) Johnson; father Noel Moen; siblings Carlene (Todd) Gustafson, Juel (Carol) Moen, Erick Moen, Anders Moen, and Chad (Amanda) Moen; uncle Ervin Olson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Moen; and sister-in-law Carrie Moen.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Private family burial will be held at East Sarnia Cemetery, rural Whitman, ND.
