Randy Ray Smith, of Connersville, Indiana, passed away on March 19, 2026 with his four girls at his bedside. Randy was born on November 24, 1953, to Vernon and Sally Smith in Connersville, Indiana. He attended Connersville High School and graduated with the Class of 1971. Randy was employed at D&M in Richmond, Indiana; later, he ran his own excavating business, as well as worked as a plumber and a union carpenter.

In his later years, Randy enjoyed attending church services and was a member of Solid Rock Church. He also attended Grace Community Church in Liberty, Indiana. Randy's favorite activity was spending time with his four daughters, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed vacationing in Tennessee every fall with family and friends. Randy enjoyed spending time with Barbara Cummins.

Survivors include his daughters, Melody (Tim) Evans of Connersville, Jennifer (Dustin) Gay of Connersville, Jessica (Joe) Spaeth of Rushville, and Lauren (Jared) Froman of Rushville; grandchildren, Zachery (Andrea) Evans of Connersville, Caleb Evans of Greensburg, Hannah (Drew) Newcomer of Connersville, Lily Gay (Trey English) of Rushville, Kyra Froman of Rushville, Kohen Froman of Rushville, Addison Spaeth of Rushville, Mason Spaeth of Rushville, and Olivia Spaeth; great-grandchildren, Adler Evans, Archie Evans, Atlas Evans, and a great- grandchild on the way, Myles Newcomer; two brothers, Steve Smith of Connersville and Phil Smith of Connersville; and sisters, Amanda Smith of Connersville, Hilda Grubbs of Connersville, and Rachel Smith Wilson of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Sallie Smith; his brother, Jeff Smith; and his wife, Rhonda Smith.

Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 11:00AM with Pastor Troy Caudill officiating. Burial will be at Center Church Cemetery.
