Randy Arthur Randolph Swift

Randy (Arthur Randolph) Swift, 73, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away September 22nd, 2025, at KC Hospice House surrounded by his loved ones. His last day on earth was filled with family, love, and music.

Randy was born September 06,1952 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Loretta Swift and his sister Kathleen Swift. He is survived by his children; Amanda Tucker daughter (Daniel), Jared Swift son (Kelly), and his 5 grandchildren Adley and Delaney Tucker, Everett, Dori, and Winston Swift.

Randy attended Raytown South High School graduating in 1970. He enjoyed going to high school reunions and seeing all his pals. He later attended CMSU. He took flying lessons and flew planes in his college years. He enjoyed telling his children about his times in the skies and pointing out the different clouds to them.

After college, he worked for Montgomery Ward and JCPenney as a security manager. He began his own security guard business. He loved to reminisce on stories as a security officer- protecting his work and sometimes having to apprehend and detain shoplifters. Randy had a strong work ethic as he worked at Carpet Corner for 23 years. He rarely missed a day of work.

Randy loved music; he could play the piano and loved to play the drums. He was in several bands and played at many local venues. In his early years, he played in a band called Colony and later joined a band called Reunion. He could play the song Wipe Out with his eyes closed and would get everyone dancing on the dance floor.

He always had a love for the outdoors including camping, fishing, and boating. He enjoyed games of chess, poker, and loved to sing bass. He had a love for the sky and knew every type of cloud.

Randy was known for his good listening skills. Many of his friends describe him as genuine, kind, and someone that would give the shirt off his back for others. Randy was always full of life. He loved to laugh, tell jokes, and always had a big smile on his face.

Randy was a known athlete. He played several sports growing up including baseball, track and field and was in cub/boy scouts. He was very strong and was a cancer survivor. As he aged he experienced strokes and seizures which led him to Heaven. He will be missed greatly by his daughter Amanda, son Jared, grandchildren, and all the others that Randy played an important special part in their life.
