Randy E. Windhorst, 46, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on April 20, 2025. He was born on December 7, 1978, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Edward Windhorst and Lisa Conley.
A devoted husband, father, son, and brother. A dedicated professional, he spent over two decades working in the civil engineering field. He contributed his talents to various engineering firms. His technical expertise and dedication to his craft made a lasting impact on the communities he helped build and improve.
Randy was a proud member of the German American Club, where he enjoyed connecting with others through shared heritage and community spirit. Outside of his professional life, Randy found joy in life's simpler pleasures. He loved spending time with his family, playing guitar, fishing, camping, and hiking-activities that reflected his adventurous spirit and deep appreciation for the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Megan Windhorst; his cherished daughters, Olivia and Stella; his mother, Lisa (Kevin) Conley; and his father, Edward "Ed" (Terri) Windhorst. He is also survived by his siblings, Kristi (Dan) Ferrand, Michael (Carlie) Gilvin, and
Ryan Bradley; and by his beloved nieces and nephews, Braden, Grace, Emma, Asher, Mia, and Hana. In addition, he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will hold his memory close.
Randy will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, compassionate nature, and the quiet strength that touched all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
The family invites those who knew Randy to share their memories, photographs, and condolences online, helping to honor his legacy and keep his memory alive.

Once at my son's 5th Bday, Randy and the girls were helping clean up. He was saying to leave it better than we found it. They were so sweet together. My prayers are with his survivors and especially his kids. May peace transcend this time grief as time allows.
