Randy Eugene Wood, known for his vibrant personality and beloved by all who knew him, passed away on September 16, 2023. He was born on March 29, 1949, in Alamance County. Randy had a joyous spirit that touched the lives of countless individuals throughout his life.

Randy dedicated his career to the maintenance department at Alamance Community College and upon retirement, began a part-time job for Impex Auto Sales. Outside of work, Randy was known for his sense of humor and joyous nature. He was a true jokester who always found a way to lighten the mood and make people laugh. Whether it was cracking jokes or simply cutting up with family and friends, Randy was the life of every gathering. His infectious energy made him the center of attention, drawing people towards him. He loved four-wheeling in the Uwharrie Mountains and embracing the adrenaline rush as he rode his dune-buggy through the terrain. Randy's love for the outdoors extended to attending car shows and car auctions, where he could indulge in his passion for automobiles.

Randy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his sisters, Brenda Simber, Penny Coggins (Barry), Nina Raby, and Tammy Flynn (Doug). Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were fortunate to experience Uncle Randy's playful spirit firsthand.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Wood and Dorothy Councilman Wood; sister, Cynthia "Cindy" Allen; and brother-in-law, Stuart Raby.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home.  A celebration of Randy's life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Alamance Memorial Park.
