Randyl Hestekin Sr.

Randyl Alen Hestekin, Sr., born on May 2, 1966-lovingly known as Randy, RA, Big H, or Uncle Randy to those who knew him well-unexpectedly passed away on October 21, 2025, in a tragic accident. With a personality as big as his heart, everyone who knew Randy has a story about him and will miss him terribly.
He is survived by his son, Randyl Alen Hestekin II (AJ), daughter in law Freya, and granddaughter Rowan; his first wife and dear friend Jill (Chris) Becker; his ex-wife Renee and her children and grandchildren; his mother Kay Hestekin; and his six sisters and their spouses: Lori (Chuck) Horvath, Teri (Kraig) Thistle, Kristi (Bill) Sanders, Tami (Dale) Mollen, Juli (Dave) Sundquist, and Mari (Tony) Farthing, and their children. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Arnold Hestekin, who we hope met him on the other side.
Randy was a US Army veteran who proudly served his country and deployed to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. In recent years, Randy worked with the Many Hands Fund to participate in a mission to Alaska with the 98 Fund, whose mission is to "serve, connect, and provide healing to families of the Fallen and veterans while honoring our Fallen," a mission that was very close to Randy's heart. While known for his big smile and even bigger laugh, behind the smile, Randy suffered from undiagnosed PTSD for many years, he carried that pain with him the way that many other of his brothers and sisters in arms did-silently and constantly.

Randy was deeply impacted by his volunteer trip to Alaska with the mission, and your support will help give other veterans the opportunity to volunteer at the 98 Fund - The Alaska Project and experience the same profound sense of purpose and healing.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22 at Curve In Bar (N188 US Hwy 45, Kewaskum), doors open at 1:00pm, service and tribute starting at 2:00pm, with military honors provided by VFW Post 1393 at 3:00pm. All are welcome afterward to join us in a luncheon and continued celebration of Randy's life.
