Raquel Freeland, 69, of Rialto, CA, passed away on January 15, 2025, in Loma Linda, CA.
She was born to Gloria G. and Baldemar Gonzales on March 10, 1955, in Robstown, Texas. She had one sibling, Grace Gonzales.
Raquel graduated from Bell High School and later went on to receive her teaching certificate. She worked as a Teacher's Assistant in the special needs program.
Raquel married her best friend, Edward W. Freeland. It was no secret that she loved spending time with him and the smile on her face was a testament to that. Raquel said Ed changed her life and showed her a different type of love. Together, they shared 7 happy years of marriage.
As a devout Catholic, Raquel was strong in her faith. She was also a warrior and very determined woman. Raquel faced everything that came her way, with breast cancer being her greatest fight.
Raquel enjoyed going to thrift stores to see what she could find. She also enjoyed the peace she experienced while sitting in her backyard. It's there that she admired the plants, trees and birds. It was also there that she liked to rearrange everything.
Raquel loved to make memories with her family, friends and dogs. She loved laughing and enjoying life for what it was. Most of all, she loved spending time with her kids, Oscar, Esteban and Gloria, and her grandchildren.
Raquel is lovingly survived by her husband Ed W Freeland, children Ruben Oscar Torres Jr., Esteban Baldemar Torres, and Gloria Elsa Torres. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be 4pm to 8pm, Friday, January 31, 2025, at Ingold Funeral & Cremation in Fontana, with rosary at 6pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. John 23rd Catholic Church in Fontana.
