RAUL PEREZ
August 13, 1953 — March 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Raul Perez, affectionately known to us as "Ruly”. Born on August 13, 1953, in the charming town of Aibonito, Puerto Rico, he moved to Worcester with his family when he was four years old.
Raul peacefully departed this world on March 1, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence
of his cherished family.
Ruly was a beloved son of the late Vicente Perez and Lydia Burgos. He shared a deep bond with his parents, who instilled in him the values of kindness, honesty and loyalty. He is predeceased by his parents, his dear sister, Maria Gonzales and his baby brother Heriberto Gonzalez, whom he held close to his heart.
Raul leaves behind a legacy of love and connection through his surviving family members. His siblings, Doctor Haydee Torres and her husband, Doctor Jose Torres of Valencia, Spain, Catalina Perez Casellas and the late Miguel Casellas of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and Judge Luis G. Perez and his wife Elizabeth Perez of Paxton, Massachusetts, were the pillars of his life, providing unwavering support and companionship. Raul's memory will also be cherished by his nephews, Doctor Jose Torres, Larry Williams, Jaime Perez, and Vicente Casellas, as well as his nieces, Marieta Torres, Yuisa Perez, and Haydee Casellas, who found inspiration and warmth in his presence. Numerous cousins and friends from the Renaissance Medical Group also shared in the joy of knowing Ruly.
A proud alumnus of Worcester Public Schools, Raul found his professional calling in the manufacturing industry, where he dedicated many years to his work. His colleagues remember him for his diligence and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace.
For the past decade, Raul found a vibrant community and a sense of belonging at the Elders Program of the Renaissance Medical Group in Southbridge, Massachusetts. This community became a second family, and they will miss him dearly. There, in his leisure time, Ruly was an enthusiastic player of dominos and billiards, his laughter and competitive spirit lighting up every game. He also possessed a keen intellect and found solace in the world of crossword puzzles, often sharing his love for words and wit with those around him. Specially, he enjoyed traveling to his homeland of Puerto Rico every summer and often winters to visit his sister Catalina.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Raul's life. His family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Saint Vincent Hospital, the staff and friends at Upsala Elder Apartments and the Renaissance Medical Group in Southbridge, as well as many others who showed unwavering support and love for Ruly throughout the years.
As we bid farewell to Raul, we hold onto the countless memories he gifted us—his laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering love. May his soul rest in peace, forever in our hearts and minds.
We will always remember him.
A Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at Noon i the RMMG Renaissance Medical Group, 11 Sandersdale Rd., Southbridge.. A Spring time burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery.
