Raul Luna Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tippecanoe Funeral & Cremation Services on Feb. 11, 2026.
Raul Salazar, age 60, was born on July 2, 1965, in Tlaltenango, Mexico , but grew up in the small town of Salazares, Mexico. At just 17 years old, Raul courageously moved to Los Angeles, California, where he built a life and spent most of his years before relocating to Lafayette, Indiana, in 2015.

Raul was a devoted family man whose children and grandchildren were truly his world and the light of his life. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time together as a family, especially going out to eat-his favorite place always being Denny's, where laughter, conversation, and love were shared around the table.

He found peace in the simple beauty of life. Raul loved being outdoors, watching and feeding the birds, tending to his plants, and patiently enjoying the process of watching them grow. Music also filled his heart, and he especially enjoyed love songs that spoke to connection and devotion.

Raul is survived by his loving wife, Alejandrina Serrano Pacheco of Lafayette, Indiana; his mother, Maria Guadalupe Luna of; his daughter, Laura Melina Salazar (Ulises) of Lafayette, Indiana; his son, Gabriel Salazar of Lafayette, Indiana; and his cherished grandchildren, Melina Alejandra Sotelo and Ulises Raul Sotelo.

He is also survived by his siblings: Guillermina, Jose Luis, Armando, Graciela, Rigoberto, Abel, and Silvia, along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Raul was preceded in death by his father, Adolfo Salazar Castro, and his niece, Guadalupe.

A Celebration of Life will take place Friday February 13, 2026 from 4-7 located at Tippecanoe Funeral and Cremation Services 3631 Moorehouse Rd. West Lafayette IN 47906. Burial will take place at a later date in his hometown of Salazares, Mexico.

Raul will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his deep love for family, and the quiet ways he found joy in everyday life.
