Raul S. Valenzuela, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, completed his earthly journey on August 6, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on October 12, 1954, to Raul C. Valenzuela, Sr. and Elva Saenz Valenzuela, Raul lived a life marked by unwavering dedication, compassion, and love.
A hardworking man through and through, Raul was the embodiment of strength and humility. He was an amazing and wonderful husband to his beloved wife, Mary C. Valenzuela, whose memory he cherished deeply. Raul was committed to his family and friends, always present with a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. He was a best friend, a buddy, a confidant, and above all, a great father to his sons who affectionately knew him as "Pops." Even some who never met him in person, felt the great love of "Pops" through his boys.
Raul's warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He was a beautiful human being-gentle, generous, and full of heart. Whether offering advice, sharing a laugh, or simply being there in times of need, Raul made everyone feel seen and valued.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary C. Valenzuela, his parents Elva and Raul Valenzuela, Sr., and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Solis Valenzuela.
Raul leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his sons, James Valenzuela and Alejandro "Alex" Valenzuela, and his adored grandson, Max Benjamin Valenzuela, with whom he shared countless joyful moments. He is also survived by his brother, Carlos Valenzuela; in-laws, Edward F. Garza, Gloria Garza, Arnold Chavez, Ernest and Debbie Badillo; nieces, Gina Liz Garza, Gabrielle Chavez, Valerie Chavez, and Rheanna Lee Alanis; and nephews, Carlos (Raquel) Valenzuela, Jr., Cris Valenzuela, and Zachary Sanchez.
Family and friends are invited to honor Raul's life during a viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Seaside Funeral Home, Staterooms 1 & 2. A Catholic Blessing will be performed at 2:00 p.m. by Deacon Ron Martinez.
Raul's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
