Ray Wilson Ayscue

Ray Wilson Ayscue, 83, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born in Franklin County on July 1, 1941, to the late Harvey Lee Ayscue and Edna Mae Piper Ayscue. Ray retired with 60+ years of service in the trucking industry. He was a faithful member of Beacon Baptist Church and demonstrated his Christian love for his family and friends daily. Ray was a loving husband, dad, Papaw, and G-papaw, who his family and friends will greatly miss.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Hunt Ayscue; children: Rodney Ayscue (Lisa) and Tanya West (Jason); grandchildren: Paige Wagner (Chris), Cory Ayscue, Kaylee Ayscue, Dylan West (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren: Jonathan Wagner, IsoldeWagner, Baby Wagner, and Genevieve West.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Ralph Ayscue and Philip Ayscue.
SERVICE INFORMATION CHANGE
A service to celebrate Rays life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.The family will receive relatives and friends before the service from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Bethany Baptist Church at a later date.
