RAY BRADLEY
Raymond Eugene "Ray" Bradley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother of Versailles, Missouri, passed away on Monday June 12, 2023, at the age of 86 with his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Bradley, of 66 years by his side.
Ray, the eldest of seven children, was born on March 26, 1937, to Elmer and Lulu Bradley in Calhoun, Missouri. Ray attended college in Warrensburg, Missouri and Manhattan, Kansas before marrying the love of his life, Liz, on April 18, 1957. Ray and Liz had two children, Greg Bradley and Cathy (Bradley) Hanrahan.
Ray was a lifelong entrepreneur. Ray and Liz moved to Versailles in 1967 when they purchased Coral Lanes Bowling Alley. Over the next 30 plus years, they also owned and operated Bradley's Mobile Mart and Bradley's Dry Cleaners.
Ray retired as a business owner in 1995 and continued to work first at Gates Rubber Co and later at Isle of Capri in Boonville as a Blackjack Dealer until 2005. Ray was loved by all that he met, both coworkers and customers, and will be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
Since 2005, Ray fully embraced retired life spending lots of time with his daughter, wife, grandkids and great-grandkids and working on projects in his shop at home.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lulu Bradley; son, Greg Bradley; brother, Paul Bradley and sisters, Joann Wassom (husband Larry) and Norma Lawson.
Ray is survived by his wife, Liz; daughter, Cathy; grandchildren, Cari Lyman (husband Mike), John Hanrahan (wife Jamie), and Deanna Batarick (husband John), and eleven great-grandchildren, Hailey (23), Caden (18), Veronika (16), Kyira (12), Anthony (11), Jackson (10), Elijah (10), Avery (10), Kinsey (8), Marcus (7) and Scarlet (5) who will dearly miss their "Papa."
Ray is also survived by his brother, Walter Bradley (wife Janice); sisters, Nina Wendel (husband Doug), and Linda Staton (husband Jim); brother-in-law, Cecil Lawson; sister-in-law, Wanda Bradely, and many nieces and nephews.
