Ray Brewer Obituary
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, with whom he would have celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary next week, Loretta (Desrosier) Brewer, and his four children and their spouses: Daniel (Mary) Brewer, Robert Brewer, Annette (Billy) Blake, and Randall (Denise) Brewer. He was a proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, sister Christina (Jimmy) Miller and brother Raymond (Paula) Brewer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Effie Brewer, and his sisters, Virginia Brewer and Loretta (Jim)Taylor.
Ray retired from Cummins in 1996, after many years of dedicated service. He was a longtime and devoted member for over 50 years of the Seymour Elks Lodge #462, where he previously served as Exalted Ruler and was currently serving as Chaplain. Ray also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962.
Ray was a humble man whose love was shown through service to others. He found joy in visiting with family, camping, and working. He lived a life marked by quiet strength, faithfulness, and generosity.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, 316 North Chestnut St, Seymour, IN. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Mike East officiating. Burial will follow at Vallonia Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Ray's memory to Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS, 66675.
