Ray E. Childs

Orwell – Ray E. Childs, age 94, passed away at his home on Friday, January 9, 2026. He was born in Orwell on April 12, 1931, the son of Ray S. and Mable (Lamoreaux) Childs. Ray was married to Nancy (Davis) Childs on November 18, 1950, they just celebrated 75 years of marriage. He was a member of the Orwell United Methodist Church. Ray owned Childs Farm Automation where he sold and installed DeLaval Dairy Equipment and Starline Barn Equipment. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, playing cards and loved mowing the lawn. He is survived by his wife Nancy Childs, children Donald (Cheryl) Childs, Cynthia (Dennis Cahill) Childs, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Connie, grandson Cory, two brothers and two sisters.

A Memorial Service officiated by Pastor James Stanley will be held at Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Orwell United Methodist Church, Condolence may be made at painefuneralhome.com
