Ray Allen Guillory, 94, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on March 3, 2025. Born on November 29, 1930, in Lacassine, LA, he was the son of Alex and Pauline (Ardoin) Guillory. Ray grew up in Welsh and Kinder, LA, and had been a resident of Lake Charles since 1950. An avid outdoorsman, Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing, cherishing the time he spent outdoors.
Ray dedicated 30 years of service to the Lake Charles Fire Department, retiring as Captain. His commitment to community service continued as he worked over 20 years in the warehouse at TCI - LA Cable and at Avis/Budget Rent-A-Car since 1996. Ray was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish before becoming a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel. Ray was also a 3rd Degree Knight and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as a member of the Firefighters Local #561.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Helen (Young) Guillory; daughters, Diana Henry (Jimmy) of Sulphur, LA, Lana Leggieri (Paul) of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Theresa Stutes (Carl) of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son David Allen Guillory, his siblings, Inez Bourque, Olean Mallet, Allie Guillory, Rick Guillory, Lee Bell Hebert, Lil Cohron, Lillie Spoor, Lillian "Toppy" Ray, Anthony Guillory, and James Guillory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 221 Aqua Dr., with Father Paul Jussen officiating. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., from 10:00 AM until the procession departs for the church, with a rosary recited at 1:00 PM.
