Charles Dwight Richard

Charles “Charlie” Richard, 63, of Moss Bluff passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in his residence.

Mr. Richard was born on July 9, 1962, in Lake Charles, and was a lifelong resident of the community he loved. A proud graduate of LaGrange High School, Class of 1980, he was an active member of the school’s football team. Following high school, he attended Central Bible College in Missouri, furthering his education and faith.

Mr. Richard built a dedicated career as a pipe fitter and planner in the oil and gas industry. His work took him across the United States, where he earned the respect of colleagues through his strong work ethic.

He had a love for music, especially Merle Haggard, and he enjoyed playing the guitar. He also cherished traveling with his wife. They created lasting memories together on their many adventures all over the United States in their RV. His favorite places to visit were the mountains and the Grand Ole Opry. Mr. Richard’s favorite restaurant was Cracker Barrel and he had a life goal to eat at every one in the US when he traveled.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sandra Richard; children, Jennifer Johnson, Ashley Clement (Brad), Amy McGee, Zeboriah Hill, and Kaley Cryer (Tim); siblings, Billy Richard (K.D.), Kayla Gilmore (Joe), and Rev. Carl Richard (Cindy); grandchildren, Kane and Luke Clement, Mabel Sigue, Tyler Stoddard, Chad McGee, Kirstyn Matte, Allie Doucet, Brianna, T.J., and Abby Cryer, Megan McKinney, and Hope Hill; and a great grandson, Blake Cryer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Mildred Richard and a sister, Kathy Richard.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Old Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. His brother, Rev. Carl Richard will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until leaving for the cemetery at 2:30 PM.
