Ray McCormick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Jan. 7, 2026.
Ray Charles McCormick was born on August 4, 1959, and passed from this life on December 21, 2025.
Ray leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work, deep love for his family, and a lifelong passion for cars and motorcycles. He built his carpet cleaning business from the ground up, proudly serving families and businesses throughout the years. Ray was well liked and respected by his peers, and his clients consistently spoke highly of his dedication and quality of service.
When he wasn't working, Ray was a true automotive enthusiast. He loved classic cars and attended local car shows whenever possible. His passion extended beyond cars to motorcycles, which he owned and enjoyed for many years. His greatest thrill came from racing motorcycles at Thunder Valley, where he continually challenged himself to beat his best times. Through racing, Ray formed many lasting friendships and became a familiar presence both on the track and in the pits. He will be deeply missed by those who shared his love for speed and competition.
Above all else, Ray's greatest joy was his grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether during holidays, special occasions, or simple visits. Being a grandfather was a role he held close to his heart.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Markeiny Garcia, Desray McDaniel, and Brionna McCormick and husband Joseph; step-sons Scott Treadway and wife Sissy, Josh Treadway and wife Kayla, and Nic Treadway; grandchildren Rayshawn McCormick, Annastazia Slover, Ryder Slover, Kacie Dorrell, Dean Sellers, Addison Treadway, Anakin Treadway, Hanna Treadway, Adon Ramos, Haven Treadway, Harlow Treadway, Mahlaykah McCleary, Xavier Tillis, Travien Tillis, and Major Keiyston; sister Janell Sneed; brothers Tracey Sneed, Marvin Holmes, and Morris Holmes; along with many other loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Aletha Holmes; brothers Arvell Caldwell and Joe Ray Sneed Jr; uncles Ralph Stewart and CJ Washburn; and grandmother Jennie V. Richmond.
