Walter “Ray” Morgan, 60, from Folkston, GA passed away on June 22nd, 2025. He was born in Folkston, Ga on June 28th, 1964, to Walter Morgan and Hellen Gooding. During his life, Ray was a jack of all trades and a friend to many. He was a jailer, a logger, a fireman, a Paramedic, an EMT, a hunting guide, and finally a Field Medic in the Army. He retired from the Army after 14 years and 2 tours in Iraq. He took the most pride, though, in being a Daddy and a Papa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking on the grill when he wasn’t busy helping someone else. He was known for being hard headed and talking to everyone, he never met a stranger. He loved walking through Harvey’s talking to everyone along the way, and never could get just one thing. Ray was proceeded in death by his father, Walter Morgan, his step-father, Liston Gooding, his sister, Sue Croft, and his nephew, Walter Knowles. He is leaving behind his mother, Hellen Gooding, his step-mother, Glenda Morgan, his children, Ray Morgan and Amber Morgan, his siblings, Sonja Knowles, Tina (George) Beecher, Joe (Teena) Morgan, Gene (Jen) Morgan, Chip (Karen) Gooding, Melissa (Kevin) Boyer, Melissa Mounsey, Johnny (Karen) Stephens, his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Layton, Annabelle, Brick, Bayne, Ryder and Kasen, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 26 at 5:00 PM at the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel.
