Obituary of Ray Ontiveros
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ray Ontiveros, who departed this world on the afternoon of Friday the 9, 2024.
Ray was born on October 15, 1958 in Greeley, CO to parents John P. Ontiveros and Margaret Rodriguez Ontiveros.
He went to Othello High School in Washington State and dedicated himself to hard work, serving in labor roles at Agland in Eaton, Colorado and the Greeley Elevator.
Ray's interests extended beyond his work life. He found joy in playing guitar, listening to Spanish music and had a passion for dance.
He had a great sense of humor and many will remember Ray as a very funny and loving guy.
Ray is survived by his son, Jeremiah James; his daughter, Khalla Gomez-Ontiveros; siblings, Joe (Mary Lou) Martinez, John Ontiveros Jr., Ralph Ontiveros, Mona (Fidel) Martinez, Jenni Martinez, Lydia Soto, Irma (Luis) Santillano and Angel Ontiveros; grandchildren, Elijah, Nadiah, Isabella and Audrina, as well as three great-grandchildren.
Ray is preceded by his parents, John P. Ontiveros and Margaret Rodriguez Ontiveros; grandson Jeremiah "Fatty" Ontiveros and siblings, Linda Ontiveros, Nelly Martinez, Rudy Ontiveros, Sarah Martinez, Anita Ontiveros Segura and Richard Martinez.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Christ Community Church (In the Community Room) 1301 15th Street, Greeley CO 80631.
A Public Viewing will be from 11:00am-1:00pm, with the Service from 1:00pm-1:45pm,
followed by a Celebration of Life dinner from 2:00pm-3:30pm.
