Mr. Ray Robertson of Lafayette and a well-known Carthage mechanic, was pronounced deceased at 4:37 a.m. Friday morning January 31, 2025 by Gentiva Hopice of Lebanon at The Palace of Red Boiling Springs where he had resided since August of 2024. Mr. Robertson was 86.
Family and friends will assemble at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Carthage for graveside services and interment beginning at 11 a.m. Monday February 3rd morning in Section five. Burial will be beside his wife and daughter and the family will receive friends following the graveside services.
The eldest of seven children, four sons and three daughters, he was the son of the late John Paul Robertson who died at the age of 82 on November 16, 1996 and Katherine Elizabeth Coleman Robertson who died at the age of 84 on April 29, 2006 and was born Charles Ray Robertson in Nashville on June 22, 1938.
In Nashville at the Woodlawn Baptist Church on November 29, 1958, he was united in marriage to Nashville native, the former Hilda Rose Lynch, who preceded Ray in death at the age of 77 on May 29, 2018 following over sixty-three years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his only daughter, Tammy Regina Robertson Trusty Self on January 28, 2024 who died at the age of 64, by a sister, Gwen Robertson Shores who died December 1, 2015 at the age of 71 and by two brothers, Arthur Eugene "Buster" Robertson wo died January 14, 2010 at the age of 60 and James Franklin "Jimmy" Robertson who died July 17, 2024 at the age of 69.
Mr. Robertson was an accomplished and much sought after auto mechanic and was longtime owner and operator of Robertson's Garage located on Spring Street in Carthage.
He was a non-denominational Christian.
Surviving is a son, Darrel Robertson and wife Sonia Gann Robertson of Lafayette; two sisters, Sue Stillwell and husband Bobby of Goodlettsville, Neda Robertson Overstreet and husband Sammy of the Brush Creek Community; brother, Eddie Robertson and wife Fredia of Carthage; four grandchildren, Brandon Robertson and wife Andrea of Lafayette, Brianna Robertson Hesson and husband Maverick also of Lafayette; Tyler Trusty of the Riddleton Community and Skyler Trusty of Gordonsville; seven great-grandchildren.
