Ray Shearer, age 79, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2026 at home surrounded by family members. He was born on October 21, 1946 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Glenn and Iva (Beckman) Shearer. Ray proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He married his wife, Karen on September 2, 1969 and together they started their family. Ray worked at AP Parts for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed spending time with his family. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed collecting cars, going to car shows and working on cars. He will be dearly missed by his car family and good friends, John Engelberg and Mark Watson.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Karen Shearer; children, Michelle (Ron) Groll, James (Melissa) Shearer, Diana (Jerry) Shearer, and Matthew (Denise) Shearer; grandchildren, Jordin (Nick) Jude, Erynn (Colin) Gottschalk, Dylan Shearer, Izzy Shearer, and Danielle Mancy; great-grandchildren, Addy, Nick, and Elle; his siblings, Glenda Shearer, Ken (Trisha) Shearer, and Joy (Rudy) Fulgham and many loving extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Lois Shearer-Steen, and Linda (Tom) Mummert.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 10-1:00 p.m. where military honors will take place at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Blood Cancer United.
