Ray Yawn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hughes & Wright Funeral Home, Inc. on Aug. 29, 2023.
ON BEHALF OF BURPEE-SCOTT MEMORIAL CHAPEL
RAY YAWN COURTESY POSTING
Byron, GA – Ashley Ray Yawn, 76, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Piedmont Healthcare. Services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Parkway Assembly of God in Macon, GA. The visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the services. Pastor Joey Williams and Pastor Byron Campbell will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Parkway Assembly of God for church missions and to Easter Seals of Middle Georgia Champions for Children.
Ray was born on September 1, 1946, in Albany, Georgia to the late James Lee Yawn and Gwendolyn (Clarke) Yawn. Ray had many interests and hobbies that he enjoyed in life. Some included camping, antiquing, raising mules, his chickens, and old buggies. He loved riding Harleys and going on trail rides. But what brought him the most joy was spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gwendolyn Yawn.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 18 years, Clara Yawn; children: Ramsey Yawn (Erin), Roger Dickens (Vicki) and Robyn McDonald (Ken); grandchildren: Della Yawn, Cannon Yawn, Somer Dickens, and Jonathon McDonald(Lindsey); great-grandchild: Avery McDonald; his fur baby: Holly; son: Kirby Yawn(Sara); and grandchildren: Lily Grace and Thomas.
With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
