Raymond Alexander Argentieri, known to his loved ones as Ray, passed away on October 16, 2023, in Rochester, New York, at the age of 91. He was born on April 19, 1932, in Hornell, New York. Ray proudly served in the Army for two years during the Korean War during which time he was promoted to sergeant and awarded two Bronze Stars for valor in action.
After his military service, Ray built a successful career as a U.S. Postal Worker. His dedication and commitment to his work earned him professional achievement awards and was highly regarded by his colleagues and the community he served.
Ray was a devoted husband to Josephine G. Argentieri for 65 years. Together, they created a loving and nurturing home for their children. He is predeceased by three grandchildren Elizabeth, Thomas and Angelo Argentieri. He is survived by his son Tom (Elizabeth), daughter Ellen (George), daughter Martha (John), and son Anthony (Jenny). Ray also leaves behind his sister Mary Willsey, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Although his favorite past time was simply being with his wife Jo, and his family, Ray also enjoyed several hobbies including golf, watching sporting events, and especially the NY Giants and NY Yankees. These brought him the most joy and allowed him to connect with his family and friends.
Ray's faith was always an important part of his life. He worshipped at Guardian Angel's Church, where he found solace and strength.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 10:00am at St. Marianne Cope Parish at Guardian Angel's Church, located at 2061 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623.
Ray will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and warm spirit will be remembered and cherished forever.
