Raymond Charles Arrasmith II was born in Missouri and spent his formative years growing up in Chicago, where he developed the straightforward grit and sharp sense of humor that would define him for the rest of his life. He was the kind of person who could make you laugh, pull you into a conversation, or debate politics with passion-sometimes all at the same time. Raymond was loving, kind, funny, and never afraid to say what he thought.
In June 1992, Raymond married the love of his life, Tara Arrasmith, in Huntsville, Texas. Their marriage was built on devotion, partnership, and shared memories that spanned decades. Raymond was a proud husband, father, and grandfather, and his family was always at the center of his world. He found immense joy in watching his family grow and took special pride in the next generation, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren.
Raymond honorably served eight years in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and commitment. Outside of service and family, he found happiness in the simple and imaginative pleasures of life. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors, and he was a lifelong fan of science fiction, especially Star Wars and Star Trek.
Raymond will be remembered as a loving, kind, and funny man with strong opinions and an even stronger heart. His presence, stories, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Tara Arrasmith; his children, Raymond Arrasmith III and Kelly Hammonds; and his grandchildren, Lydia, Brittney, Abigale, Raymond IV, Izzabele, Teegan, and Owen. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jennifer, whom he loved and remembered fondly.
His legacy lives through his family, his service, and the many lives he touched along the way.
