ROBERT FAY ARRASMITH
June 27, 1946 ˜ April 29, 2025

Robert Fay Arrasmith, aged 78, passed away on April 29, 2025, in Battle Ground, WA. Born on June 27, 1946 in St Joseph, MO, Robert’s life was marked by his dedication to his family, his country, and his various professional pursuits.
Robert served honorably in the Navy, completing four tours in Vietnam, demonstrating bravery and commitment to his nation. His military service was a significant chapter in his life, laying a foundation of discipline and resilience that he carried into his civilian career.
Post-military, Robert pursued a career that kept him close to the sea and the outdoors he loved. He worked as a deep-sea fisherman, which aligned with his passion for the water. His career also took him to Alaska, where he operated heavy equipment, another testament to his adventurous spirit and ability to adapt. Beyond these roles, Robert dedicated years of service as a lieutenant in his local fire department and later as a sergeant at Larch Correction Center, roles that underscored his commitment to community and safety.
A devoted family man, Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Arrasmith; daughters Cindy Riches, Vicki Marshall, Sandy King; step-children Monica Donohue, Derrick Mckinney; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His life was enriched by these relationships, and his role as a patriarch was cherished by his large and loving family.
Robert’s personal interests included hunting and fishing, hobbies that reflected his love for nature and the outdoors. He also had a passion for traveling, always eager to explore new places and experience different cultures, which kept his spirit vibrant and curious.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held at The Cedars Public House in Brush Prairie, located at 15001 NE 181st St, from 5:30-7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 21. Guests are invited to dress casually as they come together to honor Robert’s memory and legacy.

In Loving Memory of Bob
A Father in Every Way That Matters

This tremendous person - Bob - was more than a stepfather to me. He was Dad in every way that counts. He stepped into our lives when our biological father chose to walk away, and from that moment on, he became the steady, loving presence our family needed.

He found the love of his life in my mother, and together they built a bond that nothing could break. Watching their happiness was a gift - the kind of love that felt effortless, genuine, and real.

Bob was funny, wise, and full of stories that could make you laugh, think, or just feel like you were part of something bigger. He introduced me to the outdoors - camping, fishing, hunting - and even though waking up before the crack of dawn wasn't exactly my favorite part, being out there with him made it all worth it. The wild was where he felt most alive, and he brought that joy into our lives, too.

Growing up in a house with Bob as our dad was, simply put, perfect. He gave us the kind of family life that some only dream of - full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

He may no longer be with us, but his stories, his wisdom, and his love remain etched in our hearts. Bob will be deeply missed, but we carry him with us in everything we do.

We´ll remember the adventures, the early mornings, the laughter, and most of all, the love.

Uncle Bob played a special role in my life, and I´ll always be grateful for the memories we shared. He was the one who first took me fishing, hunting, and camping-introducing me to the outdoors with patience, humor, and a sense of adventure. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love for the outdoors, and they all started with him.

I spent countless hours at his and Aunt Linda´s house, swimming and playing with friends and family. Their home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of joy that comes from simply being together.

Some of my favorite memories are from our family camping trips and the lessons learned along the way; especially the time I showed up to go fishing still in my pajamas. True to form, Uncle Bob met me with his quick wit and a sarcastic comment, but without hesitation, he made room for me in the boat. That mix of humor and heart was who he was.

Uncle Bob´s presence in my life was a gift. I´ll always remember his laughter, his stories, and the way he made everyone feel like family. He´ll be deeply missed and forever remembered.
