Raymond E. Becker, 96, of Titusville, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 at the Oakwood Heights Village in Oil City.
Ray was born on January 22, 1929, in Oil City, a son of the late Sylvester R. Sr. and Winifred Rutherford Becker. He married his loving wife Dorothy Sharpe on July 31, 1970, in Oil City. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2012.
He was a graduate of Oil City High School, Class of 1947.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Ray was known as a handy man, he loved working on new builds and remodeling projects. He enjoyed reading and watching western movies. Above all he loved to be surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his children, Sandra Smith and husband George of Rouseville, Debra Smrekar and fiancé Richard Bussard of Oil City, and Kevin Smrekar of Franklin; his special granddaughter who served as his caregiver for the last 13 years, Rebecca Wilson and husband Barry of Titusville, Lacey Hermann and husband Joe of Waterford; his great grandchildren, Zack Wilson and Fiancé Alexis Oakes, Richey Haupt, Diamond Reed all of Oil City; his great great grandchildren, Torin Wilson and Jackson Culp of Oil City; his niece, Rhonda King of Franklin.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ray was preceded in death by his daughter Ronna Beatty; his grandchildren, Shelly Haupt and Stacy Smith; and his siblings, Sylvester Becker Jr., John Becker, and Maxine Becker.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc., 303 North Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 17th at 11 AM.
Full military rites will be observed. Interment will be at Brandon Cemetery in Seneca, PA.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oakwood Heights Village for their loving care of Raymond.
