Jeanne Clark Obituary

In the early morning hours of October 12, 2025, Jeanne Marie (Mercer) Clark, 91, left us to reunite with her late husband Roland Maxwell (Max) Clark in Heaven. We imagine he greeted her at the Pearly Gates with his arms open wide and his big warm smile. After being together for 70 years, almost 2 years apart felt way too long for her!
Jeanne was born on April 5, 1934 in Sewickley, PA to the late Thomas Mercer and Mayme Merchant Mercer, She was preceded in death by her sister Martha and her brothers Calvin, Chuck, and Bob.
Her family eventually moved to Centerville where she met Max. The couple fell in love, and on May 15, 1954 they were married at Centerville Methodist Church. They welcomed their daughter Kathleen Clark in November of 1956. Kathy lived in Centerville and for many years lovingly helped take care of them. Kathy now lives in Meadville. Max and Jeanne completed their family with the birth of their son Roger Clark in March of 1959. Roger married Mary Jane (Nosko) Clark and they live in Erie. Together they gave Jeanne the two grandchildren she loved so much. Grandson Jeffrey Clark and wife Ashley (Jackson) Clark live in Dallas, Texas. Granddaughter Emily (Clark) Cousineau and husband Dr. Vincent Cousineau Cote live in Saratoga Springs, NY. Last fall, Emily and Vincent welcomed Jack Maxwell Cousineau, Jeanne's first Great Grandchild, who she lovingly called "Jackie".
Jeanne loved Centerville and spent many years as the Borough Secretary and the Borough Tax Collector, while also helping manage the Clark Family's West Bridge Dairy Farm. She was a member of Centerville United Methodist Church where she volunteered many hours. She played an important role every year for Centerville's beloved Strawberry Festival. Jeanne and Max were proud caretakers of Sunnyside Cemetery.
Jeanne loved her grandchildren and attending their activities. Her bright pink earmuffs were a staple in the crowds and many Pitt hockey games were won when Jeanne would call for Jeff to "chuck it in there!" before he scored a goal.
Jeanne will be remembered for her sharp mind and her love for God, her Family, Centerville, and her pets. We thank God for taking Jeanne peacefully home. We will all miss her and we will remember her legacy fondly.
The family would like to recognize the wonderful care Jeanne received from the Wesbury Community staff and her Hospice Care team in Meadville.
The family will receive friends at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday, October 19th from 3 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the Centerville Fellowship Church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with pastor Gary Kinnear and Skip Laird, officiating.
interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery.
