Raymond J. Belczyk, 96, of Monessen, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Paramount Senior Living South Hills. He was born on January 14, 1929 in Fairhope, PA, the son of the late Jacob and Josephine (Scopp) Belczyk. He was a very active member of Epiphany of our Lord Church. He served his country in Europe during the Korean War era as a Private 1st class in the United States Army, where he served as a Military Police Officer. He was also a member of American Legion Thomas McKee Post 28 and the Monessen Elks Lodge 773. Raymond was an avid hunter and vegetable gardener. He was a kindhearted man who regularly volunteered to cut grass at the church and helped any neighbor who needed help around their house. He loved his nieces and nephews, serving as a surrogate father to those who lost their fathers at a young age. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked as a soaking pit crane operator and after retirement he drove a bus for the Monessen Health Center for ten years. He is Survived by his wife of 70 years Gloria E. (Owsiany) Belczyk two sons, Raymond (Diana) of Squirrel Hill, Robert (Mary Jo) Belczyk of Huntersville NC; daughter, Janice (Dr. Richard) McCombie of Port Washington, NY; granddaughter, Jacquelyn (Brad) Truxell; three grandsons, Roman Belczyk-Burton, Jacob Belczyk, Matthew Belczyk; great grandchildren, Grace and Jack Truxell and 16 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Belczyk, and three sisters Genevieve Lubecki, Wanda Sobek and Irene Sobek. Arrangements are entrusted to the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 with Mass at 10:00 am at the Epiphany of our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen, with Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Hyacinth's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests mass intentions be sent to the Epiphany of our Lord parish in Raymond’s memory.
