With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Raymond H. Binzer, who departed this life on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 93 years old. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 19, 1932 to the late Frank and late Anna (nee Schnaker) Binzer. Ray lived a life marked by resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Ray cherished his formative years in South Cumminsville, where he developed a deep connection to his community and faith, attending St. Pius School and serving as an altar boy at Mass. These experiences laid the foundation for a life of service and compassion, values that he imparted to his children.
At the tender age of 38, Ray faced the profound loss of his beloved wife the late Ruth Helen (nee Tenkman) Binzer, thrusting him into the role of a devoted single father to his six daughters, ages 1½ to 14. His strength and determination during those challenging years are a testament to his character. With grace, Ray nurtured his daughters while instilling in them the values of hard work, kindness, and resilience.
In a moment of grace two years later, Ray met Mary Carol during a rosary procession at Mount St. Joseph, a serendipitous encounter that brought joy and companionship back into his life. Together, they forged a beautiful bond, creating lasting memories that filled their hearts with hope and love.
Ray's career as a carpenter and builder reflects his commitment to craftsmanship and his community, where he proudly worked for RJ Beischel. His contributions to local homes and structures are a lasting testament to his skill and dedication to quality work.
Ray is survived by his loving daughters, Judy (Tom)Volkerding, Jenny (Jeff) Stephenson, Julie (Dale) Wurzelbacher, Janie (Tom) Kennedy, Jeanne (Ron) Thornbury and Jill (Rob) Binzer, who will carry his legacy forward. Loving grandfather of 15 grandchildren and great grandfather of numerous great grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary (late Charles) Wenzel, Irene (late William) Heinzelman. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived-one filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched.
Ray is preceded in death by both wives, Ruth Helen (nee Tenkman) Binzer and Mary Carol (nee Bohman) Binzer; his parents, Frank and Anna (nee Schnaker) Binzer; his son, Jimmy Binzer and his brother, Alfred (Rose) Binzer.
Known for his warm heart and generous spirit, Ray treasured the moments spent with family and friends. He relished the camaraderie of tailgating at Notre Dame games, where laughter filled the air and bonds grew stronger. In the warmth of Derby parties, he found joy, immersing himself in the festivities surrounded by good company.
A visitation to honor Ray will be held on Saturday (March 8) at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd., from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church, 3565 Hubble Rd., at 10:30 a.m. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Ray are invited to gather.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Animal Adoption Foundation, 2480 Ross Millville Road, Hamilton, OH 45013.
In celebrating Ray's remarkable life, we remember a man whose laughter will echo through our hearts and whose spirit of kindness will inspire us always. He taught us the importance of family and friendship, imparting lessons that will continue to resonate in the lives of those he touched.

I will always remember Uncle Ray and my dad Alfred working on projects in the work shop. The two of them were extremely skilled carpenters that took great pride in their work. I know dad enjoyed the time that he spent post retirement with his brother. I´m sure anyone that ever had work done by these brothers would attest to the quality of their work. They also built two houses together and did most of the work themselves. They knew the value of hard work and the importance of family. They also shared a strong faith instilled in them by their parents(Anna and Frank Binzer). I know this legacy of faith will continue to grow new branches on the Binzer family tree.( Colossians 2:6-7) A life well lived and now enjoying the promise of salvation in Heaven! Rest in peace Uncle Ray

A dear man, doted on and adored by his beautiful daughters. I had the pleasure of spending time with him during one of our AAF yard sales. He made this world a more beautiful place by being a part of it. My deepest sympathy to his family. You will get through this difficult time because of the love he shared with you.

Ray was a visitor to AAF and particularly to our yard sale. His warmth and generous spirit were apparent not only from him, but through his wonderful daughters. He will be deeply missed, but always remembered. Sending love. Mark

What a beautiful obituary. Uncle Ray was one of a kind. He filled a room with his warm heart, love for life, and laughter!! While he will be missed deeply, we know he is in heaven with our other loved ones we have lost. He´s back with these wonderful men and women who molded us into who we are today.
