Cumberland, MD – Raymond Willard Bittinger, Jr., 89, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Devlin Manor.
Born May 19, 1935, in Klondike, MD, Mr. Bittinger was the son of the late Raymond Willard Bittinger and Stella Marie (Cutter) Bittinger. He was also preceded in death by his son: Mark Bittinger; and his brother: Melvin Bittinger.
Ray was a United States Army Veteran, and retired from A.B.L. as a guard. He was a member of the Lonaconing Masonic Lodge George's Creek Valley #161 A.F.&A.M. and Grace Baptist Church in Cumberland. Ray thoroughly enjoyed working in his garden and working on vehicles.
Ray is survived by his wife of 67 years: Dolores Bittinger; his daughters: Rhonda Alderton and husband, Mark; Karen Bittinger; and Linda Winebrenner; and his grandchildren: Charlie Welsh, Randy Welsh, Sean Welsh and wife, Shayna, Andrew Winebrenner and wife, Ginny, and Daniel Winebrenner. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and his two brothers: Johnny Bittinger and wife, Marlene; and Paul Bittinger and wife Barbara.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Tom Lantz officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
