Raymond G. Bouchard, 87, beloved husband of Virginia (Cannell) for 67 years, passed away on Wednesday June 11,2025. He was born and raised in Salem, MA and a longtime resident of Beverly. He was the son of the late Adolphe and Jeanne (LeVasseur) Bouchard.
After high school, Raymond enlisted into the United States Navy. Upon completion of his service, he returned home and worked for the gas company. While working, he was enrolled in night school at Northeastern University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Engineering. His career then moved him to South Essex Sewerage District where he was in the position of Director at the time of his retirement. He found that his engineering background could benefit the community tremendously. Therefore, he was very active in several committees for the city of Beverly, many of which he chaired. He loved his work. Following his retirement he enjoyed travel, seeing many wonderful places. He loved the water and boating and even after no longer owning a boat, he continued on as a social member at the Jubilee Yacht club. The "club" was a placed he loved.
In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his son, Philip Bouchard and his wife Goranka of Concord, Ohio, his daughter, Pamela Bouchard of Beverly, and his daughter, Susan Hurd and husband Terrance of Centerville, MA. He also leaves granddaughter Erin Hurd and partner Jennifer Cox, grandson Matthew Hurd and predeceased by grandson Andrew Hurd.
His funeral service will be at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Friday June 20th, at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions of your choice may be made in Raymond's memory.
