Mr. Raymond Brown age 81 of Alanthus Hill went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2022. He was saved at a very early age. For many years he worked in the coal mines of Kentucky. Later on he took over his family country store Brown’s Grocery, that he kept open for many years and he helped many people along the way he was truly known for his giving heart. He will be missed by his many friends and family.

 

Raymond was preceded in death by his: Father: Otis (Toe) Brown

Mother: Mae Brown

Sisters: Wilma and twin sister Ruth Brown

 

He is survived by: The mother of his children Jimmie Brown of Sneedville,

Sons: Raymond and wife Debra Brown of White Pine

Arville Brown of Sneedville

Daughter: Mary and husband Jody Posey of Morresburg

Two very special grandchildren: Mylee Loope and Hunter Slone who he loved dearly.

Brother: Jay Brown of Ewing, VA

Sisters: Pat and husband Cliff Mickett of Connecticut

Peggy and Kenneth Parks of Mooresburg

His best friend in life his dog Bella Brown

20 Bonus Grandchildren

And a host many nieces, nephews, and many other friends and relatives

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Brown Cemetery C/O Peggy Parks 223 Country Club Estate RD. Morresburg, TN 37811.

The family would like to say a very special thank you to Smokey Mountain Hospice, Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home of Rutledge and Sherry Ratliff for their care.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 5 PM till 7 PM with funeral services to follow at 7 PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Hansard officiating. Music will be provided by Mike Gibson.

 

Graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Brown Cemetery in Atlanthus Hill with Rev. Ryan Martin officiating.

 

Pallbearers: Bill Surber, Jeff Stapleton, Chris Brown, Jeff Gibson,

Aaron Graves, Caleb Graves, Eric Graves, and Michael Graves

 

Honorary Pallbearers: Teddy Loope, Kenneth Parks, Hunter Slone, Jay Brown, and Benny West
