Raymond “Clyde” Daugherty, a cherished son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by love on October 3, 2025, in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on September 3, 1963, he was a man who truly lived life on his own terms, leaving a distinct mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Raymond was known for his strong work ethic and dedication, carving out a successful career as a self-employed truck driver and spent many years as a lineman for CTS. He graduated from Trotwood Madison High School, but it was his passion for working with his hands and the great outdoors that defined his life. Whether it was fishing or camping, he found joy and peace in nature, often sharing these moments with his beloved dog, Cleo, by his side.
His larger-than-life personality made him one-of-a-kind. Raymond never met a stranger, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Friends and family alike will remember his warm spirit and the way he could light up a room with his infectious laugh and genuine kindness. He was a proud member of the Teamsters retirement club, where he enjoyed camaraderie and lent his assistance whenever possible.
Raymond leaves behind a loving family who will always cherish the time spend together, including his father, Jack Daugherty, and siblings, Ricky Daugherty, Jack Daugherty, and Scott Daugherty. He was a devoted father to Lindsey (Travis) Koeller, Tiffany (Tyler) Oldham, Billy Daugherty, and Noah Daugherty, and a cherished grandfather to Hunter, Nora, Brooklyn, Nick, Finn, and Bristol. Raymond also held a special place in his heart for his great-aunt, Martha (George Raymond) Hale; aunt, Shirley, and his nephew, Jason, as well as his nephews, Josh and many others; nieces, Sarah (Ben), Autumn (Zack), Samantha, and many more. He shared a special bond with his cousin, Eddie "Hypo" (Lisa) Stacy who like an uncle to him; cousin, Beverly; and lifelong friends, Gary “Hog” Miller and Ray “Alabama” Tucker, alongside a whole host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Raymond is predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Daugherty, and uncles, Bill and Randall.
As we remember Clyde, we celebrate the life of a man who did things his way, leaving a legacy of love, support, and wonderful memories.
