IN LOVING MEMORY – RAYMOND ANTHONY DUDA
Raymond Anthony Duda, age 88, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on July 16, 2025.
Born on May 16, 1937 in Whipple, West Virginia, Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose Duda, and his twin brothers, William and John (Donna) Duda. He is survived by his sister, Sylvia (Patrick) Horne of Elkins, WV, his brother, James (Denice) Duda of Raleigh, NC, his sister-in-law, Margaret "Sherry" Duda of Avon Park, FL and his close friend, Dorothy "Dottie" Martuscello of Ellijay, GA.
Raymond was the proud and devoted father of three children: Michael Duda of San Francisco, CA; Steven Duda of Campbell, CA; and Valerie Duda of Gardnerville, NV.
After completing his studies at West Virginia University, Raymond served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco. He went on to enjoy a thirty-year career with Pacific Bell as a manager of information systems. During this time Raymond met his wife-to-be, Julia, and together they raised their family in the Bay Area.
A devout Roman Catholic, Raymond was an active member of St. Isidore's Church and later continued his journey of faith in Florida and Georgia, most recently at Good Samaritan Church in Ellijay. In retirement, Raymond found joy in golfing and serving with the Knights of Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Raymond's honor be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Details regarding a funeral mass will be announced at a later date.
Logan Funeral Home & Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.loganfuneralhome.com.
