Raymond Feller Obituary

Raymond N. "Ray" Feller, 80, of Foster, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born on August 31, 1945, in Pawtucket, RI, a son of the late Norman Raymond Feller and Loretta (Fortin) Bruce.

Ray was predeceased by his first wife, Marie (Garape) Feller, in 2004. He later remarried Lorraine (Lucier) Feller, with whom he shared 20 years of love and memories.

A large-engine mechanic by trade, Ray worked for St. Johnsbury Trucking and RIPTA, where he enjoyed a long and successful career. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things-puttering on his tractor, cutting wood to heat his home. A man of few words but full of quiet humor, it was often hard to tell if he was joking or serious.

Ray's happiest times were spent out to eat with friends and family, riding country roads on his Harley, and working on cars with his brothers. He loved sitting in the glider on his back deck, soaking up the sun with his dogs by his side, and hanging out at the local watering hole, "Weidele's". Known for his sweet tooth-despite the advice of his doctors-he also enjoyed country music and the loyal company of the many dogs who became his "best buddies" over the years. Above all, he will be remembered as a kind, loving man devoted to his family.

He leaves behind his daughters, Lisa Zeigler of Providence and Amanda Matczak and her husband Jon of Coventry; two grandchildren, Andrew Rivard and Christina Zeigler; and his brothers, Richard Bruce and William Bruce.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray's memory to HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904, or to the West Warwick Animal Shelter, 106 Hay Street, West Warwick, RI 02893.
