Raymond John "Skip" Fleming Sr.

Raymond "Skip" John Fleming Sr., 99 of Richmond, passed away January 4, 2026, at McLaren Hospital in Mt. Clemens.
He was born on December 19, 1926, in Detroit.
Skip proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. After the war, Skip partnered with his father to run Fleming's Drugs on Mack Avenue in Detroit.
Skip married Johann (Vitale) on September 2, 1957. Together they raised two children and later owned and operated Fleming's Motor Lodge in Onekama. Skip was a member of the Lions Club in Onekama, the Elks Lodge in Traverse City, and several Catholic parishes. He enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, and working with his hands.
Skip, at the time of his death, was survived by his wife, Johann; and children, Raymond II and Judith Marie.
The family honors the memory of Skip and invites you to visit and share memories Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Holy Family Parish, 79780 Main Street, Memphis, MI from 10 a.m.to 10:30 a.m. with Mass to follow. Fr. Mark Livingston will officiate. A burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in the spring.
