Rockville, IN – Raymond "Ray" E. Fultz, age 67, passed away peacefully in his home on, February 25, 2025 surrounded by his family after a year and a half battle with cancer.
Raymond was born April 7, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN. He was the son of the late Helen (Sharp) Zoetis and Jack E. Fultz. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Carol M. (Claspell) Fultz, their beloved fur babies Molly, Abby, Missy, Maggie, and Runi; his parents and his sister, Debra Hartman.
Survivors include two daughters Jennifer (Drew) Schrader of Plainfield, IN; Elyse (John) Overpeck of Cloverdale, IN, nine grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob, Jayden, Haleigh, Landon, Quintin, Colby, Corbin, Chase; great grandchildren Rowen, Xander, Winon; sister Roberta Fultz of Indianapolis, IN; brother Mark Fultz of Indianapolis, IN and son Kyle (Joel) Fultz of Lafayette, IN as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ray worked as a shop foreman alongside his wife of 36 years and they both retired together in 2019. However, he came out of retirement three years ago to work at the job he loved the most with the Reeder-Trausch Marine Family where they truly became family. He loved boating with family on Raccoon Lake and hosting gatherings for friends and family in "the hood" where it was always time for a cold Miller Lite. He was known to everyone who loved him as "Uncle Ray", "Ray Ray", "Raymo", "Ray-Daddy" and most importantly "Pappy."
He had a life-long love of racing. His most cherished Nascar driver was the Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt Sr., and he loved collecting all things #3. In his early years, he was part of the pit crew for his late cousin, Robert E. "Bobby" Ellett, at the Indianapolis Speedrome on Kitley Ave. He was reunited with his passion in retirement and was part of the pit crew for Tommy St. John, Jr. - the son of his longtime friend, Tommy St. John, Sr. of Indianapolis, IN.
