Raymond Higgins of Medway passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025.

Known to his close friends as Ray, he was born on June 20, 1932, in Natick, MA to the late Harold and Vera (Leland) Higgins. Beloved husband of the late Sandra "Sandy" (Spinney) Higgins. He was a devoted father to Kimberlee Dumas and her late husband Peter of Franklin, Raymond Curtis Higgins and his wife Susan of Franklin, and Scott Higgins and his wife Stephanie of West Newbury. Loving grandfather of Megan Kantzer and her husband Jake, Michelle Kam and her husband Joshua, Kristen Dumas, Chelsey Gavin and her husband Andrew, Kayla O'Donnell and her husband Patrick, Amelie Higgins, and Eliza Higgins. Great grandfather of Charlotte and Emma Kam, Miles and Jasper Kantzer, Bo and Molly Gavin and Olive O'Donnell. Brother of the late Harold Higgins, Jr and Avis Winters

Ray graduated from Natick High School in 1951. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War for 3 years as a morse code interceptor at Camp Smith, HI. Upon returning to civilian life, he took a job as a teller at the Wellesley Trust Company where he met his future wife, Sandra. They were married on June 2,1956.

Ray worked at the Natick Trust Company for nearly 40 years. Over his career he went from being a teller to vice president. He was a beloved fixture in downtown Natick known by many. He retired from the bank in 1996.

Ray and Sandy lived in Natick for 37 years where they raised their three children. They enjoyed many summer trips to Nova Scotia, many weekend family camping trips in Ray's Starcraft tent trailer. They were members of the Natick Square Riggers and enjoyed square dancing for many years. As a young man Ray joined Demolay and later became a Freemason. His home lodge was Meridian Lodge where he joined the line and eventually rose to the role of Master of the Lodge. He served the lodge with honor and distinction as Master as well as a Ritualist and Chaplain. For his outstanding service to the Masons and his community, he was awarded the Joseph Warren Medal. Later in Ray's retirement, he moved with Sandy to Bellingham where they resided for 18 years. In their later years, they sold their Bellingham condo and moved into Mahan Circle in Medway. During their retirement, Ray and Sandy enjoyed traveling and the occasional trip to the local casinos but Ray and Sandy's true passion was visiting their children and grandchildren.

Ray was a resident at Medway Country Manor prior to his passing. He was loved and adored by both staff and residents. He will be missed by all who knew him.
