Raymond "Ray" L. Joswiak, 95, of Edgar, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on August 25, 1929 in the town of Cassel to the late Anton and Agnes (Jagodzinski) Joswiak. Ray was united in marriage to Alvina Thurs on June 1, 1957 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar.
For over 30 years he worked at Marathon Electric and also owned and operated a refrigeration installation and service business in Edgar.
Some of Ray's favorite pastimes included, listening to polkas, going out on his pontoon, hunting with his brothers and brother-in-law, and walking through the woods to watch the wildlife and check his deer cam.
He enjoyed making sausage and was entrusted by his brother Alfred (Buddy) to use the "secret" family recipe when making polish, venison, and summer sausages. Ray loved music and played the drums in his younger years, and throughout his life, he played the harmonica and spoons at many events.
Most of all, Ray loved to spend time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Alvina; children, Deb (Dick) Fisher, Tom (Brenda) Joswiak, Carol (Mark) Ackerson, and Patrice (Joe) Janega; grandchildren, Adam (Alyssa), Katie (Nick), Mark (Devan), Luke (Mara) and Nick; three great-grandchildren, Claire, Bryce and Amalia; one brother-in-law, Wilbur Bantes and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Agnes; brothers, Alfred (Buddy) and John; and sister, Rose Ann Bantes.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, March 31, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Alan Wierzba will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
