Raymond Lamb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. Louis Cremation - West County from Aug. 28 to Sep. 10, 2025.
Raymond "Ray" H. Lamb of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on August 21, 2025, at the age of 92. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Kathryn "Kay" Lamb (née Reimler); his sister-in-law, Ursula Lamb; his son, Gregg (Janice) Lamb of Hermann, Missouri; his daughter Denise (Brian) Bouquet of St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren: Julie Lamb of St. Louis, Missouri; Kelly (Carlos) Diaz of Huntsville, Alabama; Rebecca (Matt) Norton of Norfolk, Virginia; Andrew (Kassie) Bouquet of St. Louis, Missouri; Megan (Ryan) Jordan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Kyle Lamb of St. Louis, Missouri. Ray will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews and was loved by a growing clan of great-grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Garth Lamb and Adella Lamb (née Sprintz), and his brother, Ralph (Ursula) Lamb.

Ray was born on May 28, 1933, and raised on Compton Ave. in South St. Louis. Outside of school and serving at Mass, he enjoyed playing sports with his friends in Marquette Park. Ray's proudest athletic accomplishments were the winning of the 1946 Junior Class "City Wide" Championship in horseshoe pitching as well as the St. Louis Championship at Sportsman's Park in 1947 with the St. Anthony's baseball team. Ray graduated from St. Mary's High School in St. Louis in 1951 and, after working for a year to save money, he headed to Southeast Missouri State University. During college, Ray, nicknamed "Rabbi", studied marketing, served as President of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, and made many lifelong friends-the most significant being a friendship with Kathryn Reimler that ultimately led to marriage on May 19, 1956. This was a busy time for Ray as he graduated, was married, and left for service in the U.S. Army at Ft. Leonard Wood-all in the same week.

In 1960, Ray began his professional career as a pharmaceutical salesman with Bristol Laboratories. Over the next 32 years, he built a respected reputation with doctors across the greater St. Louis region, consistently earning "Best of Bristol" recognition and sales incentive trips to exotic locations, igniting a love of travel.

Ray's pastimes included tennis and golf with friends, camping on sandbars, photography, hiking, and "power naps," however, his passion was sharing his faith and love of the outdoors with his family. Ray and Kay enjoyed a long and active retirement together. They had cocktail hour (a.k.a. "martini time") and watched the sunset in 54 foreign countries but Estes Park, Colorado and Naples, Florida were the destinations that continued to call them back year after year.

A faithful member of the Catholic Church, Ray served as an altar server, a lector, and RCIA facilitator. Ray dedicated himself as a Eucharistic Minister at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and was an active member of both Sacred Heart and St. Clement parishes and spent his final years attending mass at Holy Infant Church.
