Raymond Arthur "Ray" Lindquist

Raymond Arthur Lindquist, a husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and an all-around good man, passed away peacefully at his home in Richardson, Texas on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 90. He lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of family and nature.

Born October 12, 1934, in Murdo, South Dakota, Raymond was a true patriot who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, establishing and supporting vital communications networks for US Forces during the Vietnam War. His service allowed him to see the world, and during his tenure, he lived in various locations across Asia and Europe. His dedication and skill in service were hallmarks of his character that he applied throughout his career.

Following his military service, Ray spent many years working in telecommunications, both for the US government and in the private sector. During his retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed completing improvement projects to his home, working outside, tinkering around, or simply enjoying the sun and fresh air. His creativity and resourcefulness were ever present in his projects and endeavors.

Ray's greatest joy was his family. He was married for 46 years to his wife, Glenda, and together they raised their son, Joseph Arthur Lindquist while living in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Texas. Ray was the neighborhood dad, and Joe will forever cherish the memories of quality time spent together with his dad and his friends. More recently, Ray took immense pride in his granddaughter, Farryn, with whom he loved spending time, sharing stories, and teaching her the values he held so dear. Even in declining health, Ray never passed on a chance to spend time with Farryn, Joe, or their friends.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Glenda, his son, Joe, his granddaughter, Farryn, and his brother, Bill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, his mother, Lavera, and his brother, Bob.

Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, perseverance, and unconditional love will live on through his family.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 4 th from 1 to 2 PM at the Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Missouri. A graveside funeral service with military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his mother, Lavera, and his brother, Bob.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Smile Train or Operation Smile to help children born with cleft lip/palate.
