Raymond J. Lizee

Raymond J. Lizee, 87, of Willimantic husband of Bernice (Wallen) Lizee passed away Saturday August 31, 2024 at Windham Hospital. He was the son of the late Armand J. and Bebiane (Despres) Lizee.
Born on April 24, 1937 in Norwich, CT lived in Willimantic for the last 18 years. Raymond worked in the landscape department at UCONN for 35 years until his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and he enjoyed woodworking
Besides his wife Bernice, he leaves a daughter, Kim Godere of Lebanon; two sisters, Rejeanne Chanski and husband Donald of Windham Center and Doris Wilkas Loadwick of Cairo, NY; two brothers, Rene Lizee and wife Sandra of Storrs and Normand Lizee and wife Susan of Columbia; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces especially Rose Bessette and her family and a close friend, Kerry Chobot who Raymond thought of as his son. He was predeceased by his sons, Stephen and Scott ; his first wife, Sally Lizee; and his brothers, Roger, Gerald, Donald and Richard.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Thursday Sept 5, at 12:30PM at New Willimantic Cemetery Rt 32 and Rt 6 Willimantic. There are no calling hours. The family has requested no flowers. To send an online expression of sympathy, please visit www.baconfh.com
