Raymond McQuain Obituary
Raymond was born in Ireland, West Virginia to Rista Davis McQuain and Raymond French McQuain Sr. on May 9, 1931. On July 11, 1952, he married Ruby Jean Brewer McQuain, at Kern Memorial Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. (Sixty-eight years). Together they had three children, Sharon McQuain-Smith (Kyle), Deborah McQuain Bossard (Ken Johnson), and Raymond (Anita) McQuain, 3rd. They lived in Akron, Ohio before moving to Brigham City, Utah in June 1961.
Raymond was called to serve in Korea in 1950. After active duty he returned to school.
Raymond was a graduate of Oak Ridge High school (class of 1949), Tennessee Wesleyan University, University of Tennessee, and Akron University. Ray was a huge supporter of the Tennessee Vols.
Raymond was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon, an Elder, and Clerk of the Session. He had a deep and abiding faith and spent endless hours serving on numerous committees. He was also active in the community coaching little league football, Board of Meals on Wheels, and peach days with the Shriners. He enjoyed tennis, hiking, camping for a week to the Wind Rivers with friends, skiing, and snow shoeing, and the Utah Honor Flight accompanied by son in law Kyle Smith.
He is survived by his wife, three children, and Six grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Whitaker, Amber Whitaker, Tyler (Allie) McQuain, Marissa (David) Asay and Scott (Arin) Zerkle and Danielle (Jonathan) Carr. Ten great grandchildren, Lily Whitaker, Brock Zerkle, Hadlee Asay,
Witten Asay, Emmett McQuain, Camden Carr, Kylie Carr, Nixon Carr, Nolan Carr, and Lottie Carr.
Preceded in death are his parents and two brothers, Eugene McQuain and James (Sue) Davis McQuain.
Private Memorial Services (family and close friends) will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, 311 South First East, Brigham City, Utah. (September 16th. at 11 am) Military Honors will follow the service. There will be a celebration of Ray's life at a later date because of the Corona virus. The service will be live streamed on Community Presbyterian Church Facebook and YouTube Ray McQuain Memorial Service.

Ray was a 60-year member of Amity Lodge No. 23 F.&A.M in Brigham City Utah, He was a member of El Kalah Shriners. For years he maintained the Brigham City Masonic Temple and was usually one of the first to arrive for meetings, always greeting the brethren as they arrived. He will be missed by all.

Ray was a work associate and friend of many at Thiokol. His friendly smile and warm greetings were hallmarks of his character. We rarely saw him at social events without Ruby at his side, also smiling and offering a warm greeting. Sincere condolences to Ruby and family. Ray leaves us all with fond memories of a man who was genuine in everything he undertook.
