With heavy hearts, we announce that Ruby Jean McQuain passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024. Born in Knoxville, TN on March 13, 1931, to Hugh Robert and Thelma Davis Brewer., Ruby spent 93 fruitful years among us, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. The life Ruby shared with her late husband, Raymond McQuain, Jr., whom she wed on July 11, 1952, at the Kern Memorial Methodist Church in Oak Redge, TN, was filled with love, laughter, and shared passions. Ruby resided in
Brigham City, UT, where she was an active member of the Community Presbyterian Church and a beacon of faith and goodwill. She served in the Session for the church and as a Deacon, Elder and over saw the Memorial Fund and served on the finance committee. She was also very active in the Presbyterian Women's Group. She was known as the Queen of Deviled Eggs at all the social gatherings. Ruby Volunteered many hours at the Acts Soup Kitchen and was a Loyal Little League Football Mom.
Ruby was an accomplished Senior Planner in the Greeting Cards industry. Her career was marked by creativity, dedication, and a drive for excellence that was mirrored in all aspects of her life. Ruby's fortitude, combined with her infectious optimism, made her a beloved figure in her professional sphere. She was a shining example of resilience and courage, an inspiration to her colleagues, friends, and family alike.
Ruby is survived by her 3 children: Sharon McQuain-Smith (Kyle) and Deborah McQuain-Bossard (Ken Johnson), Raymond McQuain III (Anita) Six grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Whitaker, Amber Whitaker, Scott (Arin) Zerkle, Tyler (Allie) McQuain, Marissa (David) Asay and Danielle (Jonathan) Carr. Twelve great grandchildren: Lily Whitaker, Brock Zerkle, Hadlee Asay, Witten Asay, Emmett McQuain, Asher McQuain, Camden Carr, Kylie Carr, Nixon Carr, Nolan Carr, Lottie Carr Hudson Carr and Sister, Pat Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Louise Petree, brothers-in-law: Carl Moore and Lester Petree, Niece Carla Karn and Nephew Stephen Moore.
The family would like to express appreciation to Dr. John Markeson and the Bristol Hospice Team for the loving care they provided.
A graveside service will be held at the Brigham City Cemetery, located at 300 East 300 South,
