Ray used to play his instruments in his room as he was growing up. He played some of the Allman Brothers music, who I had not heard of before Ray. One day he played In Memory of Elisabeth Reed, my favorite. Ray knew how to play many instruments, one of them was the accordion. Not many people knew that.

Thanks so much for sharing the memories and the great photos that i´ve never seen, Mark and Doug! Is it ok if I copy them onto the McGuiness obituary/tribute wall?

Ray was my best friend. I met Ray
at Highland High after I moved to
Blackwood in 1972. We both loved
music and not much else. One
thing Ray showed me was that
you could set goals and achieve
them. We played in bands and
met many talented musicians.
Ray could play anything. Rock,
Soul, Classical, Jazz, Bluegrass,
and he could shred even before
it was invented! Heaven now has
not only a great guitarist but one
of the kindest friends I'll ever
know

Ray was a dear friend. Spent several years as a teen growing up with Ray and my cousin Mark. Just simply living life day to day. Ray had a great heart , laid back , and a fantastic guitar player.
My brother' .... you were part of the gang growing up. I love ya Ray. Your with Jesus now. Rest easy bro'.
