Died: July 19, 2025
Raymond Lee Nichols, age 75, of Newport, passed away, Saturday, July 19, 2025, at home. A veteran who served his country honorably in Vietnam, was a proud Marine, was a lifetime member of the DVA, VFW, and American Legion, and an even prouder father and grandfather. Born July 2, 1950, in Pontiac, MI, to parents, Albert W. Nichols and Martha A. Walker, (Grose), he spent his formative years in Michigan. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Donna M. Nichols(Northrop); daughters, Natalie Nichols, of Kawkawlin, MI, Audrey (Corey) Bramer, of Jacksonville, NC; and son, Victor Nichols, of Kawkawlin, MI; brother, George Walker, of Punta Gorda, FL; sisters, Dawn Whelpley and Donna Mae (Carl) Smith, both of Lapeer, MI; beloved grandchildren, Harper and Asa Bramer and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, Stuart Walker and Della Mae Williams; brothers, Lary Williams, Ralph Nichols and Allen Nichols; and brother-in-law, Warren Whelpley.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Wednesday, July 23, with the memorial service following at 4:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will have an additional Memorial Service in Michigan at a later date.
