Raymond H. "Double Clutcher" O'Haver, 83, of Oakland, passed away on December 10, 2024, at Mon Health Medical Center. Born on October 4, 1941, in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Thomas Riley O'Haver and Nettie Bertha Leona (Lantz) O'Haver Starkey.
Raymond was a proud 1960 graduate of Southern High School. After high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Army, where he developed a lifelong bond with fellow servicemen. Raymond spent his professional life as a dedicated truck driver, working for various companies where his reliability and hard work were well respected. His commitment to his community was evident through his lifetime membership in the Gorman Volunteer Fire Department along with the VFW Post #10077, and the Proctor Kildow American Legion Post 71. In his free time, Raymond found joy in gardening, hunting, and lending a hand at his neighbor's butcher shop. Above all, Raymond cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his dog, Bear.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Naomi (McRobie) O'Haver, to whom he was married on March 5, 1968; his daughter, Mia Lansberry and Husband Bill; three grandchildren, Chaz Lansberry and wife Tabby, Cole Lansberry and wife Kim, and Bryan Lansberry and wife Rebecca; two great grandchildren, Adaline and Noah, and one great grandchild on the way; a host of nieces and nephews; his special friends Richard and Donna Blamble; and his beloved dog, Bear.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Harold L. O'Haver, Raymond "Sonny" O'Haver, Jr., and Melissa D. O'Haver; his sister, Mary Ellen O'Haver and husband James; and a brother in law, Joseph McRobie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gorman Fire Dept., or the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad.
