I was fortunate to have known Ray close to 50 yrs. I first met Ray when he was the lead CPA conducting our construction firm annual audit. He eventually moved to VT where he purchased a home directly across the street from me in a small town in Wallingford, VT. Thus not only did he become good friend but great neighbor as well. Over time, I admired and had great respect for him. He sought many challenges.

He ended up living with me during some rough times for each of us. Since we did not wish to starve, we learned how to cook, sometimes by trial & error. I would never let him know that he was a better cook only for the fact he presented his dishes like a chef would do. He convinced me that we should add deck to my Rutland Town home. At that time Ray was working at RK Miles as their CFO, I was able to purchase all the wood and a sliding patio door through them. With the help of 2 other friends, Jim McGinnis and Matt Freeman, we completed the deck which I don´t think a bomb could destroy. We spent several evenings on the deck enjoying either a glass of wine or our other favorite, Tanqueray & tonic. We had a scenic view of the mountains and of the city along with some amazing sunsets. Ray bought that house from me after my retirement and my move to AZ.

Some of my best memories would be playing in the Rutland CC snowball golf tournament as partners. I never had seen anyone that could driver the ball longer of the tee than Ray. We spent many springs going to Myrtle Beach for a week of golf and for many nights of entertainment.

When Ray retired from RK Miles, he announced that he was moving to AZ, I was overjoyed to hear that. We would be together again. I organized a sixty birthday party for him. While here, he had arranged a dinner for his neighbor and her friend Linda, knowing that I might like the friend, that was 5/8/2010. On 3/10/2011 Linda & I were married, Ray being my best man.

Soon after his daughter Ashley gave birth to a son, Jackson. I knew then that he would be moving to SC to be near them. He was proud of his grandson saying what a good athlete he was going to be, just like his Grandfather. Ashley gave birth to Stevie his geanddaughter another proud moment for Granddad.

One of Ray´s enjoyment and pleasure was singing at karoke.venues. I for one was not comfortable singing alone but would sing with Ray. He tried several types of songs again seeking that challenge.

I have rambled on long enough, I´m sure that I could share more memories. I lost my brother Ray 11 yrs ago, now I have lost my other brother Ray. I loved him, may you Rest
in Peace my friend. Thank you the fond memories.
